Couch Potato Gift Basket
Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 Food and Candy GiftsI absolutely love this Couch Potato gift basket. Even if you’re not a sports fan, you’ll appreciate the delicious contents - Chips Ahoy, Oreo Cookies, sausages, tortilla chips and salsa, nuts, pretzels, peanut brittle…and you can choose just how nice you want to be. They have a price range from $49-99 that determines how much is actually in the basket.
What? Parisians want a little variety, too?
Thursday, July 19th, 2007As one who loves food very deeply, the food snobbery that has always been associated with France is something that’s always bothered me. For far too long, “common people” have shied away from delicious food experiences because they didn’t feel like they were the kind of person who would eat a particular dish. That’s just criminal. If something looks good, sounds good, or tastes good (and it’s safe), you should eat it, if only once just to try it.
That said, I came across this interesting piece on the English and Americans bringing a bit of their styles to France and I had to smile a little. I say, “Let them eat German, British, American….”
Pasta Sampler - Fettuccini, Ravioli, Shrimp Scampi
Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 Food and Candy GiftsWhen you’re buying a gift for a housewarming party or wedding, it’s easy to hit up the registry and buy some piece of chine that will gather dust in a cabinet somewhere. If you want to do something a little more personal, though, try sending a gift like this pasta sampler.
Your recipient will love the gift of several quick and easy meals that can be prepared in almost no time. Just look at the appetizing selection - (2) Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Dinners, (2) Shrimp and Garlic Ravioli Dinners, (2) Shrimp Scampi, and (2) Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Marsala Wine Sauce Dinners:
Custom Photo Box Chocolate Truffles
Monday, July 16th, 2007 Food and Candy GiftsWhen you’re giving someone the gift of food you didn’t make, it’s hard to be unique. It’s not hard to get good, high quality chocolate, but if you do too much to make it unusual, it can end up losing the original appeal. That’s why personalized photo boxes are so cool.. You can offer an original, thoughtful gift (or you can use your business image/logo) while still sending excellent, delicious chocolates.
Their boxes start out at $17.99, and you can upload the image online so it’s quick and easy.

Tart Sampler - A Delicious Delivery
Saturday, July 14th, 2007 Food and Candy GiftsAs delicious as tarts may be, most of us have little experience with them, outside of the nursery ryhme:
The queen of hearts,
She made some tarts,
All on a summers day:
The knave of hearts,
He stole those tarts,
And with them ran away:
The king of harts
Brought back those tarts,
And said he’d ne’er steal more.
If you’re never had tarts, you may not know what kind to get (whether it’s for yourself or a gift). The Delightful Deliveries Tart Sampler makes the decision easy. It includes two slices of each kind, and they’re kosher-certified. At less than $50, they’re a very reasonable gift.
Flavors Included:
Raspberry Almond Tart, Lemon Flower Tart, Chocolate Pecan Tart, Cabernet Pear Tart, Caramel Apple Tart, and Mango Splash Tart.
The Gift of Summer Coffee
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007With the possible exception of iced coffee drinks, most people don’t think of summer and coffee at the same time. It’s just too warm. That hasn’t stopped Boca Java from coming up with a great summer coffee gift basket, though. Instead of the usual heavy coffee gift basket stuff, this one has an iced sugar cookie, two summer coffees, a mug, and flavored swizzle sticks. They also give you the choice between whole bean and pre-ground coffee in the gift set, which is a relatively rare occurrence.

Cheese Basket for Alcoholics & Others
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007It’s not often that a cheese basket gets me this excited, but the Alcohol Kissed Cheese Basket is definitely worthy of attention. At $129, it’s not exactly a gift for your casual friends, but if you’re out to impress your favorite cheese lover, this basket will do the trick. Just look at what’s included:
* Whiskey Cheddar
* Brillo Pecorino DiVino
* Winey Blue
* Chicken Normandy Terrine with Calvados
* Irish Mustards
* Mimosa Jelly
* Ah! Some Chocolates - 4 Piece Assortment
* Schlünder Liqueur Cake
* Flambar Pineapples in Gin:
* Vino de Milo All Natural Simmer Sauces
While I could do without the Mimosa Jelly (probably not bad, but I’d be forever picturing the actual Mimosa Tree), the rest sounds divine. I’m a sucker for good cheese, though.
