Edible Gifts for Men

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Men can be difficult to shop for, especially when they already have everything they want - a great sound system, an Xbox 360, a Blu-Ray player, and so on.  That’s why I usually skip the electronics and buy food for the men in my life.  I know Christmas is over, but Valentine’s Day is coming up, and nothing says love like a giant bowl of cheese spread or a hulking sausage basket.  To give you some ideas, I’ve included a few good selections below:

Thick & Juicy Beef Jerky

Monday, May 19th, 2008

While most beef jerky is about as flat as laptop memory, this Beef Jerky from Omaha Steaks looks undeniably juicy and delicious. While the price certainly seems higher than common brands like Slim Jim and JackLinks, the quality also appears to be much higher.  Coming from Omaha Steaks, I’d expect nothing else.

You probably shouldn’t buy dad flowers and heart-shaped chocolates for Father’s Day, but this Beef Jerky is perfect.  What dad doesn’t love dried meat products??

Omaha Steaks Lobster & Filet Dinner

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Given the choice between a Patek Nautilus watch and a Lobster & Filet dinner for two, I’d definitely choose the meal. While either would make a great business gift, it’s tough to look at the picture below without getting very, very hungry. Surprisingly, the meal goes for just $69 over at Omaha Steaks (for now, anyway).  Contents include:

2 (6 oz.) Lobster Tails
2 (6 oz.) Filet Mignons
4 (5.75 oz.) Stuffed Baked Potatoes
2 (1 lb.) Vegetables
1 (4 oz.) Lemon Parsley Butter Sauce

Make Your Cheap Steaks Taste Like Omaha Steaks

Sunday, January 27th, 2008 Food and Candy Gifts

Obviously, not everyone can have thick, juicy, delicious Omaha Steaks delivered on a regular basis. As tempting as it may be, it’s just not practical. What nearly anyone can do, though, is buy a jar of their Omaha Steak Seasoning to transform their grocery store steaks (which can be just as good, if not better!). I can honestly say that I have at least one bottle of their seasoning on my shelf at any given time - at $4, why not? It’s very good, without being too overpowering and salty like a lot of seasonings. It also manages to avoid tasting like musty bodybuilding supplements the way some dried seasonings do.
