Omaha Steaks…Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough?

Monday, February 18th, 2008

When you hear “Omaha Steaks”, most people understandably turn their thoughts to steak.  Luckily, though, they have an entire array of delicious products beyond the steaks they’re famous for.  For $24.99, you can get 30 ready-to-bake Dark Chocolate Cookie Dough portions.

Even better, it looks like the package is on sale right now for a mere $9.99. This post is made possible by an informative website on cerebral palsy symptoms.

Dark Chocolate Organic Fruit & Nut Energy Bars

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Although Clif Bars are actually pretty good for you, they taste even better. In flavors like “Dark Chocolate Mocha”, “Dark Chocolate Raspberry”, and “Dark Chocolate Walnut”, they have plenty of tasty varieties to choose from. With 160 calories and 24% of your recommended daily fiber intake, they’re not a bad choice for people who are active.

Each box of 9 will run you around $12, so you’ll have plenty of money left over for something like an LCD TV.

Apple Berry Crisp Cake

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Although it’s easy to find simple baked goods like apple pie or brownies, it’s a little tougher to find something a little less ordinary like this Apple Berry Crisp Cake from Macy’s.  The cake has a mixture of apples, blueberries, and cranberries packed into a shortbread crust and covered in a streusel crumb crust.  As if that weren’t enough, the top of the cake is drizzled in creamy caramel.

I wouldn’t exactly call it healthy, but it sounds delicious.  If your individual health insurance adjuster saw you eating this cake, I’m sure he’d be cringing.  Unless you offered him a piece, of course.

Chocolate Chip Pancake & Waffle Mix

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

After a long day of shopping on Friday, I was pretty much convinced that there is no way to find a reasonable gift for less than $10. You might be able to buy something for that price, I thought, but there’s no way that it would be a gift that you wouldn’t be embarrassed by. Even the average paperback book costs $10-15. I was pretty sure that I was going to spend roughly the amount of a couple caribbean cruises just to buy gifts for the last few people on my list this year.

I’m happy to say, though, that I was wrong. This Chocolate Chip Pancake & Waffle Mix would make a outstanding gift for only $7.50. The packaging is cute, and for their insanely low price, you get 17 ounces of mix that includes Guittard Chocolate Chips. If you’re not familiar with Guittard Chocolate, let me assure you that you should be. Even the international adventurer and NY Times best-selling author Tim Ferriss agrees that they are world-class chocolates (although they’re too expensive to make his <$5 list).
